CSI is a leading manufacturer of high performance test sockets used in many different areas of semiconductor testing. CSI uses quality principals in all stages of design and manufacturing, which in tandem with our dedication to customer service, allows us to deliver superior quality products and services.

CSI brings over 20 years of experience, in socket design to our customers. We have at our disposal a vast data base of existing socket designs. Our manufacturing facility is equipped with multiple state of the art CNC machine tools, which are individually connected to a CAD/CAM engineering work stations. This set up gives our manufacturing engineers extreme flexibility to create new deigns, and execute old programs with high quality, maximizing productivity and efficiency.

   
   
   

At Contech we use spring probe contacts as the basis of our test sockets. We also offer high performance elastomeric contact interposers for applications which spring probes may not be suitable. These conditions are:

  • Signal speeds exceeding 20Ghz , including demanding RF and mixed signal applications.
  • Pitches below 0.4mm.

With our large library of available spring probe contacts complimented by our high performance elastomeric interposer technology we are capable of offering sockets and contactors for pitches as low as 0.2mm and speeds of up to 50Ghz. Below is a list of our most widely used spring probe contacts. Other choices are available for special applications.

Interposer Contact Sets  
   

Our high performance interposer contact sets use an innovative silver column technology in a compliant elastomeric matrix. These contact sets are available in 2 different thicknesses and according to the specific application can be ordered with or without the DUT shield.

These contact sets are extremely versatile and can be used for manual applications from Burn-in and Hast to production test and characterization. If the contact sets are ordered with the DUT shield these contact sets are suitable for very high volume ATE test and exhibit a life of 500K insertions and above. Custom Test Contactors

CSI test contactors are designed for top quality and unsurpassed electrical performance. Our test contactors are designed with an easily removable lid assembly for fast conversion between hand test and ATE use. Perfectly adapted for use with virtually all package types (BGA, LGA, QFGN, MLF, CSP, WLCSP etc.) CSI test contactors can be customized to work with any handler type and existing DUT board. Whether you are using one of standard body and lid designs or working closely with our engineers to customize a test contactor to your own special specifications, you will receive the same excellent 3-4 week lead time plus our unbeatable price and service.

Passive and Active Heat Sinks

At Contech Solutions we can furnish your socket or test contactor with a well designed passive or active heat sink. If your device has a power output of 2W or 250W we can design and manufacture a suitable system for you to be sure your device will not over heat. We have a large array of already designed passive heat sinks and can design and manufacture a new one for your application with no NRE or extra lead time. If your device is very high power and needs a liquid cooled heat sink we can design and manufacture an active heat sink to work in conjunction with a chiller for seamless operation. We have the engineering resources to do a study of your part and suggest the ideal heat sink for your application.

 

Semi Custom Test Sockets

At CSI we have a line of semi custom test sockets that give the user a dynamic and easily adaptable socket for any manual test application. From Burn-in and HAST to final test or characterization this socket will perform seamlessly.
We have 2 clamshell pre molded body kits that can be adapted to handle all package sizes from a fraction of a millimeter to 30mm. This concept is a combination of precision machining and adaptation of already existing molded parts to deliver a high quality manual socket at a very competitive price and delivery.

Our semi custom sockets can easily be adapted to work with any of our spring probes as well as our elastomeric contact sets for a spectrum of contact solutions which spans from 0.25mm pitch to 1.27mm pitch and from DC to 40Ghz and beyond.

The versatile design of our semi custom sockets allow the socket lid or base to carry a heat slug or a heat sink as well as provision for a Z adjustable lid mechanism.

There is never a NRE and sockets are always delivered in 4-6 weeks depending on quantity.

Operation temperature -55 to 160 DEG C.

Failure Analysis Sockets

We provide high performance Failure Analysis Sockets for all package types and pitches. Our FA sockets are designed with a standard thin socket body and a very thin, and rigid Metal lid with a large window in the center of the lid for visual or mechanical access to the exposed die. Our FA sockets can be used for E-Beam testing, mechanical probing or other FA equipment which require a low profile, and access to the die. Our FA sockets can be customized to fit your existing footprint and work with your particular equipment with no affect on the price or lead time.

Strip and Multi-Nest Sockets and Contactor:
 

Contech Solutions offers a virtually unlimited array of innovative socket and contactor designs for strip or multi nest testing. Regardless of your package size, lead count or pitch we can design the ideal strip or multi nest sockets for your specific application. We have extensive experience and engineering know how to provide you with manual strip sockets for Burn-In, engineering or other manual test applications as well as strip and multi nest contactors for ATE test. We use the same high performance contacts with the same rigid engineering principals to provide you with the ideal solution for your strip test application.
